If this were any other concept, I would likely have just left in frustration.

However, it is true that the intent of the artist has a great deal of influence over how you perceive a game and its mechanics.

I played through to the end with every disability, because this game spoke to me on a level that few do.

You have earned my respect.

Didn't give up.

That's the whole point, isn't it?

Maybe, or more :)
You got a great point.

I'm sorry. This game just isn't fun. It also doesn't inspire confidence in any other area, albeit graphics, sound, etc.

This is quite a simple, yet marvelous game that requires real strategy for once!

When it comes down to it, the best puzzle/strategy games always tend to revolve around this basic rule. Create a scenario with pieces that act under specific rules that are easily recognizable, and watch how those rules play out against each-other and the player. That's more or less how the Universe works as well, so it only makes sense that it would translate into solid gameplay.

You have my respect.

I salute your ability to create such an elegant twist in such a short amount of time.

However, I still feel that this game is much too short, and deserves expanding upon. I'll leave that up to you though.

Heh...

Was scrolling through this slowly, and wasn't expecting to see a depiction of the Minecraft World size... Nice touch!

A decent port, but kind of glitchy.

It certainly feels like the arcade classic, but both the sound and music are kind of off at times. The music can glitch when it changes, particularly when you pick up a hammer.

You tried really hard to make the game emulate the style of the original Nintendo masterpiece, but unfortunately, both the jumping and speed are kind of off. Jumps that would work for me in the original game send me too far in this one.

Also, I saw a fire drift down a ladder, keep going through the floor, and leave the screen on 50m.

Overall, nice work, but a tad buggy. I think you could have made up for it though, if you had actually made your own levels in the style of the game. Now THAT would have been cool!

LilDwarf responds:

I noticed the sound problem happened to me when I navigated to another window or tab on the browser...maybe it happened to you aswell? Otherwise, it always should run fine, given your CPU of course.

Was ok, but...

I HATE that jumping sound effect.

It's good to find a game made without an preloader video ad, but it really isn't much.

You should spend the time to make a larger game with more challenge. Try adding hazards, moving platforms, keys, etc...

Also, you should up the framerate a bit. Would like a smoother jumping experience.

TBHaus responds:

Thanks, ill try to fix all of that up, and I was just using a 'defalt' boing noise for the jump for now, till one of my friends finishes the jump sfx, coin sfx and the song.

...

Eammy, you are a genius!

This is probably the most artistic and visually stunning thing I have ever seen on Newgrounds! It reminds me a lot of the fractal stuff I used to do a lot of, only this has considerably more structure to it.

After some deliberation, I was able to get past worlds 1 and 2. However, I can't seem to get to world 3. Care to provide any hints as to how I could do that? (If indeed it is possible) I would much like to see the rest of the game.

Also, the music was excellent! I think I'm going to put some Deadmau5 on my iTunes.

Eammy responds:

It is not possible to get up there, and World 3 doesn't exist anyway. It's just a big tease.

Well...

I'm sure this would have been a fun game, if I could actually shoot anything!

The only thing that works is the movement. I can't fire, and I can't open the menu.

Please go back to your fla file, fix these errors, and maybe add some music and/or sound effects. Then you will have a good working game.

Shabadage responds:

I'm sorry the controls did not work for you. I will attempt to figure out what the problem is. Unfortunately, this was not made in Flash, but exported from Multimedia Fusion 2; so I suspect there are a few kinks in the export pipeline.

The controls work fine for me on all 3 of my PC's, so I am unable to replicate the problem. I will change the controls in an update; hopefully that will solve the problem.

Thank you for your input!
