[Shovel the Dog Episode 1]

Gotta admit, I choked up when Shovel choked up on his own tears. That alone made this worth it.

That was pretty snazztastic.

I really have no complaints. This deserves to be on TV.

You know, if I had the power of time travel, one of the things I'd do would be to go back and talk to Jesus directly. I suspect he'd have some interesting things to say.

I think this story would have been better had they asked God to help them come up with a better plan using their powers, instead of just having him step in and do the job for them. You can't fix your problems just by praying. You have to also do the work.

For what it's worth, the animation was fine, and the voice acting was decent. I liked the time travel dude the best.

This is way better than my first flash, just sayin'.

One thing I would advise, though, is that you rely less on sweeping shots and do more animating. It doesn't have to be 60fps fluent, but people will appreciate the effort.

First and foremost, though, you succeeded in telling a story, which is way more than can be said for most first-timers, including myself.

Interesting stuff.

I noticed your repeat use of that scrolling background, which seemed to prompt you to switch scenes every time you had to re-roll it. A lot of repetition in general in this cartoon. Not sure if you intended for that or not.

The themes I'm gathering are fairly basic, but there's nothing wrong with that. My only real suggestion would be to have expanded it with more unique scenes, animations and backgrounds. If you did that, you might end up garnering quite a bit of attention.

I actually will be honest with you and say a lot of it was just accidental and not on purpose but now looking back it, it seemed interesting.

And yes I understand your part about expanding but I am still learning and am very passionate about this and will get better.

Come now. I know the space program isn't perfect, but surely they could come up with something better than wasting millions, if not billions on a child sacrifice.

I am unsure of your motive behind creating this. Precisely what is it that you are trying to denounce here?

Maybe the animation couldn't explain well and that would be my fault.. sorry.
Well, the reason why they shoot a child to the sun is... to sacrifice for preventing apocalypse, the wrath of the God. And shooting child with a rocket was a kind of expression of sci-fi version of an ancient religion ritual. You know, burning them alive... to reach to the God in heaven.
So that's it. The rocket was just part of the ritual.. only just it costs a lot.

To be honest, it wasn't that great.

There was no sound, and all of your animations consisted of tweens. You're definitely off to a decent start though, and I like your use of framing. However, this has a long way to go before it can be considered a decent Flash movie.

Advice: Do more animating, add some music at least, have a preloader, end on a proper sequitur. I'm afraid there's a lot more pain ahead, but maybe it'll be worth it.

Next time make a longer movie, or submit to a collab.
