It's simple, but I liked it. The electronic flaring seems to happen at just the right time, and the song knows just how to end.

Interesting song. The first part was alright, but not particularly memorable, but at 3:09, it kicks off into a collage of strange sounds. I'd like if you explored further with the concepts used in 3:09 onwards.

Also, that percussiony-string sound. I want it. Can you send me a sample of it? :P

I like the song's concept, and instrumentation. However, I feel it ends to abruptly, and doesn't loop correctly.

In all honesty, I don't think this should be a loop at all.

Insanctuary responds:

Really? I thought it was among my better loops. I guess you could say... I'm out of the loop, huh?

Hmm, interesting ambient piece we've got here. I do think this song has potential, but there are a few problems.

Namely, the buildup is kind of lost, stretched over too great a length to be noticed effectively. To fix this, you can either amplify the effect of the buildup, or shorten the song a bit. Also, this song has no ending. It just stops jarringly, and that really takes me out of the experience. You should at least add a slow fade-out to the end of this piece, or make it loop properly if that was the intention.

ZLEAP responds:

You'll notice any loop I've made was properly done so. No. That was not the intention.

You're going at this wrong, friend.

But if this were more piece of music and less what it actually is, you would be more than right.

This was expression. A snapshot of my mind.

But thanks.

Hmm, very interesting. I find myself drawn to the background melody. I'd absolutely love it if you released another version of this song, extended and without the drums.

RayGinzburg responds:

thanks, and maybe I will

Ah, it's nice to hear an ambient song from you again.

My only concern is that there's a background hum that you can still hear at the end that doesn't fade out before the running time. Other than that, this song is sweet.

sculpted-cold responds:

thank you :). the noises throughout the track are supposed to be vinyl pops and electrical humming as if you're listening to it from a record player.

Not bad.

It certainly has that calmer feel. However, I personally don't get anything particularly strong from this piece either. For what it's worth, it is technically well done.

Keep at it!

cheezz responds:

Thanks Fubaka. This is my second attempt at doing something ambient. It's not really as soft as I would've liked it to be, and I would've liked to have avoided using drums too but something in me made me give in. Hopefully I'll be able to get everything right next time and also emote something stronger as well. And I'm looking forward to it, these pieces are fun to work on.

Quite frankly, this is one of the best songs I've ever heard on Newgrounds, and it baffles me that it's been left forgotten like this for so long. (Even if it was just a year)

There's certainly more to you and your music than what first meets the eye. Consider me a fan until further notice.

JoeyFreezeMusic responds:

Considering this piece is particularly important to me because it was written for my late grandfather, I'm very honored and inspired by your words. Thanks very much.

Your choice of instrumentation is interesting here, and I do get the impression from the title quite well. I do find the main guitar melody to be a bit too repetitive in the first half though.

Other than that, I likes what I hears. You should keep these coming, and explore more possibilities.

This song isn't exactly my bag, but for what it's worth, it's put together well enough.

Also, if I were making the choice of genre, I would have picked Dance. Ambient ought to be for the softer atmospheric tunes.
